A Proposal for the Florida Division
Submitted by the Officers and Men of Camp #1282

Introduction
We propose the installation and display of several large Confederate Flags as a living memorial to the Confederate Cause and to those men and women who served the Confederate nation. These installations are to be situated at prominent sites near interstate highways coming into Florida. They will serve
(a)  as a welcome from the SCV to residents and visitors
(b)  as a daily reminder of the sacrifices of the Southern people and the Cause that we seek to vindicate. Several Florida Division Camps have erected flag poles along major highways in this State and the impact has been noted.

Proposal
We propose that the Florida Division erect flagpoles and  place large Flags at each of the three interstate highway entry points as near as possible to the State line. Such a memorial would be seen by every visitor entering and leaving the State. We recommend that each flag pole be no less than 50 feet tall (higher if possible) and display a flag with fly length no less than 15 feet, We further recommend that the base of each flagpole contain a memorial with an engraved marker indicating  sponsorship. (Imagine your name or the name or your Confederate ancestor placed here.) The cost of each memorial would be approximately $5,000.

Conclusion
We believe that this proposal (1) prominently displays the role of the SCV to both residents and visitors, (2) provides a proper and respectful setting to display the Flag, and (3) showcases the Florida Division as proactive leaders in the fight for Southern culture and heritage.
